About me

Christo Anto Francis is an illustrative painter based out of Canada. He holds a Bachelor’s degree of Illustration from Sheridan College, Oakville, Canada. Inspired by academic art and contemporary art, he finds a sweet spot in painting people and showing the simple, beautiful and sometimes troubling aspects of everyday life.

Inspired by the likes of William Adolphe Bouguereau, John Singer Sargent to Jon Whitcomb, he looks at depicting humanity at its various moments. He focuses primarily on people and creates works which speak on a human level. He is a painter who has had ample gallery exposure having recently exhibited at The Brick Lane Gallery in UK.

Playing around and experimenting with shapes and designs is what keeps Christo’s ideas fresh and interesting. Constantly scraping, changing and tweaking shapes gives his ideas a new life. Painting digitally and traditionally gives him a certain freedom in his paintings and its certain outcomes. He uses brushes and textures profusely to mold and change to achieve the painting in the end. Experimentation is a vital part of the thought process and in the execution of most of the pieces.
